FOUR OAKS PARK
FOUR OAKS PARK,
SUTTON COLDFIELD
Swan Architects were commissioned to replace a modest two storey dwelling in a highly documented conservation area with this 6000sqft Queen Anne Revival house.
An area of predominantly Arts & Crafts architecture, a case was argued for Queen Anne Revival, referencing nearby examples by architect Charles E Bateman. Although very different to the Arts & Crafts style, Queen Anne Revival shares its key principals, a reaction against industrialisation and mass production with the use of traditional craftmanship and architectural detailing
